Our Fleet

Vehicles

Our current fleet totals 25 in number and are all 32.00 tonne 4-axle tippers. They are all LEZ compliant and by the end of 2011 they will exceed the Euro lV standard for pollution required.

They are all fitted with automatic sheeting systems which enables all loads to be covered safely from ground level.

Vehicle Tracking

We are able to locate the vehicle’s whereabouts using Satalite Tracking. This has improved the efficiency of our Transport Office and therefore reduced overall fuel consumption.

Maintainence

All vehicles are subject to regular Safety Inspections (every 4 to 6 weeks) in accordance with Department Of Transport requirements by our own workshop staff.

In addition to this a daily check is carried out by the driver of the vehicle and records this in his daily report book in triplicate one copy of which is given to the Transport Manager and one to the Fleet Engineeer.

So, regular safety inspections, regular servicing and a rolling Vehicle Replacement Programme provides Norman Road Haulage with a fleet of vehicles able to go to work safely.

Communication

Hands free kits are fitted to all vehicles and so, subject to our Mobile Phone Policy Statement, we are able to contact our drivers by phone anytime.
